DemoB Help

It's best to NOT say much about most of demos on this panel. Except for the
following:

--- many of the demos rely on certain setting in your graphics driver. try
the `flicker test' first and, depending on whether you see flickering or
not, you may have to adjust your settings. MacOSX machines always seem
to be set up properly. Some Windows machines are not.

--- at the bottom are buttons to go into and out of anaglyph stereo mode (that
cheapo stereo 3D method using red/green or red/blue glasses). some of the
demos (knottype, St. Elmo, J, E, Ea, Eb, Ec, the painting demos) do not
work in this display mode. Results may vary.

--- the `swirling' demo may cause KnotPlot to crash. strangely enough, this
happens more frequently on my better graphics card than it did with my
old graphics card (where it never crashed).

--- the demos are tuned for machines that I have access to. You may find they
run too fast or too slow on your machine. An example is the `snakes'
demo. Try changing the values of ncur and nseg (Main panel) to affect the
speed. Some of the demos run at a fixed frame rate (w1 thru w6) because
the default is far too fast (bonus hint: for those specific demos, w1 thru
w6, you can unlimit the frame rate by pressing F9).

--- Many of the demos ask you to press a specific function key F1 thru F12.
On MacOSX machines, some of these function keys so other things. I think
you have to press APPLEKEY-F12 to get what KnotPlot sees as an F12 key
press (for example). I'm sure MacOSX users know about this already.
