Varying cylinder radius

Postby tessellations on Mon Aug 17, 2009 1:44 pm

Is there a way to vary the cylinder radius within a knot? E.g., in a file that specifies a knot via a series of coordinates, is it possible to also specify the cylinder radius for each point (or cylinder joining two points)?

Hi,

although i've often thought this would be nice, it's not possible at the moment. however, it is on my "to-do" list. for the time being, all you can do is fiddle with the parameters vcn, vcphi and vcA. you can find these on the Surf tab or you can type in the values to the KP command window, for example:

vcn = 4
vcphi = 2.3
vcA = .9

to see what the current values are, enter

par vc
